Hi I’m Niki and I’m the owner and artist behind Niki Sprekos Photography. I’m a Melbourne photographer that specialises in newborn, maternity, baby and cake smash photography. As a mother of two beautiful girls, I understand the importance of creating lasting memories that are natural and timeless.
Newborns – My passion is in capturing newborns in their first few weeks. I will ensure that I capture all the moments when they are super tiny and make sure your love and connection shows too. I love photographing sessions in a timeless, simple, modern and minimalist way.
Newborn sessions are held in my home studio, which is the perfect environment for your newborn. I work with beautiful natural light, it’s warm, inviting and a perfect place to sit back, relax and watch your newborn’s first photoshoot.
Maternity – Nothing is more beautiful than capturing pregnancy and the miracle that is motherhood. I promise to ensure you as an expecting mothers to feels special and beautiful. My studio sessions are fun, relaxed and natural so your raw emotion and love is captured. Maternity sessions are held in the studio and taken ideally around 28-34 weeks into pregnancies.
Baby – I loves capturing a babies cute and unique personality through photography. The recommended age for baby photography is between 6-12 months when they are ideally able to sit up unassisted. It’s a great time to capture their first baby stages such as sitting, crawling, rolling, smiling and maybe even standing. I always ensure I capture babies in a simple, modern and minimalist way keeping the focus on your gorgeous baby.
Cake Smash – There is nothing more special than celebrating your babies first birthday. I keep cake smashes minimalistic and beautiful. I will ensure I capture those smiles, tears, giggles and of course all the mess that comes with this special shoot. We can also finish off with family images and of course a bath as well.
Location – My clients come from all over Melbourne. My studio is located in Malvern East, Melbourne. Niki Sprekos Photography is only a 3 minute drive from Chadstone Shopping Centre, or 15 minutes from Melbourne CBD.

The booking process was straight forward, and Niki was in constant contact pre and post shoots. I found her shoot guides really useful, as was the pre-shoot questionnaire she gets you to complete. On the day Niki made all of us feel relaxed and welcomed. Her studio is a lovely space, with lots of thoughtful details for Mum’s-to-be and families. During our newborn shoot, we were able to relax on the couch whilst Niki gently worked with our baby boy. She even changed his nappy a couple of times! I found that so important as both hubby and I were very tired (being 9 days post partum) and we very much appreciated the time out whilst she snapped the cutest photos. The 6 month shoot was one of our favourites. At this age our son was simply adorable and Niki worked with his cheeky qualities to capture some memorable facial expressions and natural / candid poses. So many smiles were afforded that day! Come the 12 month cake smash, our little man was teething and a little bit grumpy. Till this day I am amazed (and grateful!) at how patient and kind Niki was with our son. She worked with him, made him giggle, brought out all the smiles and captured some truly beautiful photos that we will always cherish. Hubby and I barely had to do a thing! I loved how Niki took my album seriously and created a story. A true time line that reflects Ross’ first year of life. We also worked together in creating a super cool astronaut themed backdrop. Niki organised the cake, balloons and cake topper. I didn’t need to do a thing and it was just so convenient as I had returned to work and didn’t have much time. We have received our images and album and we are super impressed with the quality of the products that she delivered. Words can not express how great Niki is with what she does. Kind, patient, talented.. the list goes on. Look no further 🙂

All our babies have had newborn sessions with Niki and we love how she makes every experience memorable. She always makes us feel comfortable in her studio and we love how we spend the whole time enjoying ourselves. I loved my maternity session as well she made me feel very comfortable at a time where I was very uncomfortable and most important, made my husband enjoy himself too.
