Hello and Welcome! I am Sam Liddicoat, owner of Little Wood Studio in Adelaide!
Photography is one of my great joys. I absolutely love to create beautiful images through simple but artistic, yet naturally styled photography. I also adore family sessions, out in the beautiful soft light, surrounded by nature, all of which I have been doing for over 13 years now!
I am also a primary teacher, and love being able to work as both a teacher and fulfill my creative passion as a photographer. This means that I am up to date with all current child safety checks 🙂 and is also another reason why I love working with children and families! For extra peace of mind, I have also completed a Newborn Photography Safety course, because even though I have had 3 babies of my own, you can never be too prepared! 😀
I am married, have 3 beautiful amazing boys (18, 15 and 7) and a rather beautiful labradoodle.
We live in our version of paradise, tucked away in the heart of Ironbank. Just over 3 acres of peaceful heaven and trees as far as you can see. This is why I’ve named my studio Little Wood Studio- we live in a small forest… our ‘Little Wood’ and it is here that I also offer private family outdoor photography sessions. Of course, in studio sessions are also always available as well. The best of both worlds!

We have just used Sam for the third time. We had newborn and sitter photos for our first little boy and just had a newborn photo shoot with our newborn and added a sibling photo. Our 2 year old was not interested in being in a photo and I thought it was an impossible task but Sam managed to convince him to have a photo sitting next to his toy and then took a photo of our newborn in the same position as the toy and she worked her magic and now we have an absolutely gorgeous photo of them together. We are so happy with how it turned out! We are planning on going back when our youngest is sitting up. Sam is so lovely and professional, I can’t recommend her enough!

Truly, what is there not to love about Sam and her beautiful photography? We have been blessed to have Sam capture those precious newborn days of all four of our babes over the last ten years, and will continue to go back to Little Wood Studio for all our family photo needs in the future. My gallery wall is a growing work of art with the beautiful shots we now have to showcase in our home, and I often catch myself stopping to gaze at them and remember the moments. Sam is approachable and friendly, and willing to work with your ideas as well as add her own creativity that results in unique quality images. We loved Sam’s sessions so much that we had to have one for our second baby. Aside from the fact that you could fall asleep in the calm, cosy room while she soothes your baby for you for the whole session – you then end up with some really special photos of your baby. Babies change so quickly and we can’t thank Sam enough for capturing that newborn stage, preserving it for us forever!

I stumbled across Sam’s Instagram page while frantically searching for a baby photographer at 3am while feeding my 9 day old baby once I had realized that I wanted newborn photos. I messaged Sam and she responded within about 4 hours to say she had a spot in a few days time. She was so lovely and gentle with our little one during the photo shoot and I am absolutely in love with the photos she took of our little boy. There are plenty of newborn photographers that take photos of babies lying on a fluffy rug but Sam’s skills go beyond that which is why I fell in love with her photos on Instagram. I have beautiful close up photos but also some amazing artistic photos of my little one in funky, artistic settings like a bowl of succulents.. so gorgeous. We received the photos quickly and I’m so so happy and would recommend her to anyone looking for newborn photos!

Stoked to have found Sam who was willing to photograph me during my pregnancy! I wanted to get some lovely shots of my growing belly and boy did she provide! I am usually the world’s most awkward person in front of a camera, but Sam instantly put me at ease. The room was warm, she had my music playing in the background, and gently helped me find poses which felt natural to me. I recommend her to all of my pregnant friends, and can’t wait to return for a newborn photo shoot in the upcoming months!

This was the second time we used Sam. The first time was for newborn pictures of our son. Sam was excellent! She is warm, friendly and patient. We loved the pictures and had many family and friends comment. The second time was recently with our daughter for newborn and family/sibling pictures. Trying to take pictures with a toddler and newborn is hard but Sam did a great job. We would highly recommend Sam she has a great set up, her pictures are great and very reasonably priced.

I would just like to start off by saying my experience was magical and so amazing! Not only was it professional but it was also laid back and so enjoyable. The amazing work is stunning & beautiful, Sam has a way with your little ones (my little one was older then the newborn stage but she still managed to pull off a newborn shoot that just shows you how talented she is.) Sams work is beautiful she puts so much time and effort into it, please if you are looking for beautiful photos to look back on of your beautiful little baby definitely recommend Sam (LWS) amazing time, beautiful photos and definitely worth the money which wasn’t as expensive as other places 🙂 will definitely be going back for further shoots with other babies and just to do some nice photos of them once they are older. I highly recommend Sam to take on the job of capturing you’re special milestones. We’ve had her take our firstborn, 6months, 1st birthday and 2nd birthday photos- all were absolutely beautiful. We moved to Adelaide in 2015 and we were looking for someone to take photos of our first child. I googled a few people and companies however I chose Sam because of her previous work and competitive prices . Sam was easy to talk to and made us all feel welcome in her home. Her work is beautiful and well planned therefore it was a no brainer when we had our second child 3 years on. We had some lovely sibling photos. How lucky we were to stumble across Sam’s page back in 2016! She made the whole process a breeze from booking a session, to when we arrived in her home studio. We absolutely loved every single photo that she captured, We didn’t consider going anywhere else when we found out we were expecting number 2!
