The 2021 Find A Photographer awards program was such an exciting time! Clients from around the country reviewed their favourite photographers and some absolutely fantastic businesses were awarded. Today we speak with Peta Nikel Photography from Hobart – Tasmanian Photography Business of the Year winner!

Peta’s Story

My passion for photography took flight when I had children of my own. I admired other photographer’s work and decided this was something I really wanted to work towards. I worked hard at my craft and eventually I was lucky enough to be able to build a space of my own at my home. For the past 11 years I have been welcoming babies and families into my very own studio.

Her Work

I offer classic, timeless and heartfelt, Maternity, Newborn and Baby photography. I create quality images in the safe and relaxing environment of my studio, which is nestled in the quiet and semi-rural outskirts of Hobart.

I’m very passionate about my clients being able to take home finished artwork. I am proud to offer some of the best quality products in Australia including canvases, framed prints and beautiful albums.

What She Loves

I love that I get to be my own boss in a job that I love. It allows me to be creative and meet such beautiful families and babies. I love being able to create memorable images for families at a very happy time in their lives, knowing they cherish these moments for a lifetime.

Her Reaction When She Won

I feel so blessed and grateful to have such amazing clients. It makes my heart sing to read their heartfelt reviews and have their support. It’s a privilege to welcome so many families into my studio and knowing that they have walked away feeling like they have had such an enjoyable experience, makes me so happy.

It is a very special thing to know they were a part of the awards and making winning possible.

Peta’s 2022 Plans

I love to learn new things and have been wanting to improve my skills with landscape photography. This goes hand in hand with my desire to travel more.

Business-wise I am always looking for ways to update my knowledge and refine my processes to ensure my clients have the best experience possible. I also want to continue helping out some local charities.

I am currently booking well into 2022 now. I am looking forward to meeting all the beautiful babies that will be born this year. It’s very important to contact me early if you are thinking about booking as sessions do fill up fast and I don’t want anyone to miss out on a spot.
